The Table Mountain chain runs all the way from Cape Town to Cape Point, and on this most scenic full-day, guided Cape Peninsular tour, we follow the peaks and valleys to the furthest southwest point of Africa.
It’s awe-inspiring to look out from Cape Point across the south Atlantic to a horizon so far away, you can almost see the curve of the earth. You may notice a distinct difference in the colour of the water, where it’s said the two oceans meet. Is this true? Your guide will reveal all!
Cape Town’s mountains contain one of the largest accumulations of quartz, which may explain the vibrant energy radiating from the peaks. Believe this or not, you cannot help but be captivated by the magnificence of the scenery and the unique, rarely-seen natural feature, where the mountains plummet into the ocean.
It’s no wonder that Table Mountain is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and why the entire Table Mountain National Park (through which we travel today), is so rich in floral biodiversity, that it forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site. We’ll see magnificent vistas, glorious seascapes, some penguins and perhaps seals too. This is a day you’ll never forget.

Itinerary
08:30-09:00 Pick up at your city hotel.
The iconic Twelve Apostles peaks form a spectacular backdrop to the journey as we proceed south along the Atlantic Seaboard. Past the strollers and joggers of Sea Point Promenade, passing some of Cape Town’s most expensive real estate in Bantry Bay and Clifton, then, before we reach the palm-lined Camps Bay boulevard, where the beautiful people hang out, we’ll take a seascape photo-opportunity at Maiden’s Cove.
The road rises for wonderful Atlantic Ocean views, before we drop down into the fishing harbour of Hout Bay. Here, we offer an optional Seal Island boat trip to see a colony of Cape fur seals cavorting in and out of the water.
What follows, is a leisurely motor along one of the most scenic drives in the world - Chapman’s Peak Drive – stopping at viewpoints for mind-blowing vistas. Cut into the side of the cliff, this road leads us to views of one of Cape Town’s longest, whitest beaches - Noordhoek Beach. Frequented by surfers and dog walkers, it’s also a training ground for race horses, who practice their gallops here every morning. We stop nearby for refreshments at Noordhoek Farm Village.
As we drive through the South Peninsula towards Cape Point, the distance between the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay (mistakenly as the Indian Ocean) becomes narrower. We head over to the False Bay coast in search of cute African penguins at Boulders Beach and stroll the boardwalk to see this rare land-based breeding colony.
Still hugging the False Bay coast, we soon stop for a slap-up sea-view lunch at the Black Marlin Restaurant, renowned for seafood, but catering to all tastes.
Cape Point is not far now and as we enter the National Park, we look out for bontebok, eland, ostrich, and tortoise. The indigenous fynbos flora is at its best here. It takes 30 minutes to drive through the park all the way to the end of the African continent where a photo opportunity presents itself in front of the Cape of Good Hope sign. Then, you can either walk or take the funicular up to the viewpoint at the old lighthouse and see the treacherous Cape of Storms, upon whose rocks many ships were wrecked. Your guide will tell you a few stories and legends, like that of the Flying Dutchman ghost ship – all true of course!
It’s a scenic return to the city of Cape Town, but if the rhythm of the bus and the day’s activities lull you into a restful snooze, we won’t disturb you.
17:00-18:00 We aim to get you back to your hotel latest 18:00pm.
